to the long awaited edition of the 20^th Walsall                                         Scout Groups newsletter 20/20 Vision.

For many of you this will be the first newsletter you will have received from the group and with so much activity happening in each section every week, there is a lot to tell you and update you on!

In this Winter edition of 20/20 vision we will be introducing our new leaders and getting an insight into what each section has been getting up to. We’ll be filling you in on what happened at our big fundraiser the Annual Bonfire, giving you dates and information on the group’s 50^th Anniversary celebrations taking place later on in 2006, and updating you on how the plans for our new headquarters are progressing.

A big bang in the community!

Our Annual Bonfire took place on Saturday 5^th November 2005 at     Handsworth Rugby Club, in Great Barr and went with a big bang - quite literally!

The preparations began on the Friday morning with a few members

of the group and some parents loading the lorry loaned to us by Paul  Wigfield (one of our Explorers parents).  It was filled up with wood for the fire and was driven down to the rugby club ready for unloading.
