As the saying goes we’ve been ‘Beavering away’ since the start of the Autumn term. You may also have noticed at church parade recently that the number of our Beavers has dramatically increased - which is great news, our colony has now grown to 16! Our first event of the term was the Beaver Splash in October, held by the district at Barr |

Kate Millard the new Akela at the 20ths Cub Pack talks about her first term ...
I have recently taken over as Cub Leader, and so far what fun we’ve had! We've been on the district Cub games night, where we had a great evening, with a big congratulations for the pack as we came 1st and were branded the champions!
This term we've been busy working on our Fitness Challenge badge, which has involved 6 weeks of improving our fitness levels and looking at ways we can become healthier and improve our lifestyles. For the groups Annual Bonfire the pack had lots of fun creating 2 Guy Fawkes to go on top of the bonfire, they ended up being a man and a woman!
On Sunday 19th November we all braved the icy cold, frosty weather and went on a tour of Cosford RAF base, we saw some amazing planes and had fun on the way round filling in our special booklets, which had lots of questions in them! Before we broke up for Christmas we managed to fit in a trip is to the Ambulance Station as part of our Community Challenge badge– more on that in the next edition. |

So what have 20th Walsall Beavers been doing? Hannah Brown our Beaver Scout leader explains… |

Beacon school. By enlisting the help of some volunteers willing to get wet, Annabel, Brad, Geoff and Dawn donned their swimsuits ready for a splashing time, which included plenty of water pistol fights and fun and games! Recently we celebrated St Andrews day at the Killock with other Beavers from the Walsall area. We sang songs, watched a story about St Andrew and found out about the work of the RNLI (Royal National Lifeboat Association) and as is the norm for all Beaver events we ended the evening with a drink and some biscuits! We were very busy before Christmas with our Christmas crafts, making things for our families, hope you all enjoyed |
