"The Apex Challenge
is the biggest and most popular scouting competition in England!"
blared out of the speakers at regular intervals and we were
there, The A Team, The Sheep Militants and The First Underground
Explorers!
Walking in the pitch
black, running from Apex chasers, completing challenges
and having a whale of a time were just a few of the things
we did that night.
Castle of doom, Head
for heights, Bombs away, Great escape, Gun run, Wet & wild,
Delve of doom, Duel descender, Mower motors, Crash land,
Takeshi’s (bouncy castle) and Wood wide web were
the names of the checkpoints and all of them offered
exciting challenges.
Out of over 60 teams
we came, 14th (The A-Team), 39th (The
Sheep Militants), 55th (The 1st Underground
Explorers). WE didn’t win any prizes, but
then again there is always next year and it was a great
night out.
Thanks to all the leaders
who transported us there and waited around well into
the early hours for us to return!!
